What to Wear at 70+
How to look glamorous in your 70s
If ever there was a poster girl for grown up glamour in your 70s, then Joan Collins is it!
This is the age when you can rely on color to give that extra oomph. Stick to simple stylish pieces in well-cut heavy textured fabrics. Strong colors like purple
and red can really flatter the older woman, or go tonal by layering an outfit in the same color family, such as different hues of gray, beige or blue - this looks really elegant.
What to Wear in Your 70s
Classic wardrobe staples such as tailored black trousers, a chic cashmere jumper, a well-cut shirt and a fitted jacket will look stylish jazzed up with some on-trend pieces. Unless you really look much younger than your age, avoid high-fashion cuts such as huge shoulders and peplum waists.
Keep lines simple by wearing pieces that are cut to flatter the figure, and skim your body, so avoid baggy shapeless styles. Instead use color and print to make a style statement, along with some fabulous fashion accessories. Prints such as stripes and polka dots as ageless as well as timeless.
Stay away from bows and ruffles and over-fussy outfits. Gentle draping, however, is elegant, on-trend and can hide figure flaws.
This is also the time to express your personality through your shoes, which will complement your understated, stylish wardrobe. Look for cute flat shoes with detailing - comfortable to wear but show that you haven't given up on fashion.
"You can be gorgeous at 20, charming at 40 and irresistible for the rest of your life."
